The Highland Park Theatre was located at 1833 S. Hackberry and opened in 1931. It closed in 1952. Community Theatres built the theatre and sold it to Hoblitzel's Interstate Theatre Circuit in 1942.
I remember going to the theatre in 1950 to see a Duncan Yo-Yo contest.

The photograph to the right shows the freeway that was built on the site of the theatre. The freeway is I-10 crossing Hackberry.
